We Are The Worlds – UPDATE

Friday, January 29th, 2010

UPDATE: A streaming feed will be available for Worlds starting at 12noon. We’re still planning to have the kickoff start at 10am, so feel free to drop in whenever.

Cyclocross season is officially wrapping up, punctuated by the the World Championships in Tabor, Czech Republic on Sunday. We’re gonna host a little shindig and see if we can’t get some kind of web stream of the race up on the big screen.  We’ll have the Giotto firing on all cylinders, pulling shots of Stumptown and Intelligentsia  - along with some baked goods and a few special friends from out of town. This is all happening at 10am, this Sunday, January 31st.

NYC VELO wool trainer jackets are in !!!!

What do you think of when you think of wool?

Itching? Scratching?. Moth-balls?

WRONG!

That’s your grandmother’s wool. Today’s wool is durable, comfortable and super-versatile. Everyone in the shop owns at least several wool garments, and we couldn’t imagine a winter without it. So we are stoked to release our latest creation – the Winter Wool Trainer from Earth Wind and Rider. We put a few classic style elements on there to make sure you stand out on your rides, but most important to us is the fabric itself. You can wear wool well into fall or spring as a main layer, and all through the winter as a mid-layer with a shell. Even if you get wet, you are guaranteed to stay warm.

Come in and check out one of these, we have a feeling they aren’t going to be on the shelves for long…

Armskins, Velo Style

Monday, January 25th, 2010

We finally received our order of DeFeet NYC Velo-logo armskins. These are CoolMax, so they are a tad lighter than the merino wool version.

Super versatile for the recent wacky weather we’ve been seeing.

RBC NYC & The Slayer

Thursday, January 21st, 2010
RBC NYC & The Slayer

We had the privilege of a pre-opening tasting at RBC NYC, a new coffee house in Tribeca. Our friend – RBC owner and Ironman triathlete Jodi – introduced us to some of the fine coffees and pastries that she’ll be serving. Her cafe also boasts the only Slayer espresso machine in NYC; this coupled with a cool vibe and a minimal but comfortable interior design leads us to believe that RBC will be a huge success.

Thank you Jodi, and good luck !!!

Check out RBC NYC for details.

BOTW – Scott Plasma LTD

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Scott Plasma 2 LTD - Time Trial Bike

This week’s Bike Of The Week is a head-turner. It’s apparent that this bike is designed for one thing and one thing only – going fast! Our new ami Claude is a customer of TriBikeTransport, (we receive shipments of traveling triathletes’ bikes for them) and he noticed that we were a Scott dealer. He came to us with this special request and we were more than glad to spec it out and build it up for him.

We’ll see you out on the road, Claude – from behind, no doubt!

Scott Plasma LTD - $8500
