Rapha Continental...off to NAHBS

We’re currently finishing up a few odds and ends before we pack into the family truckster for the drive down to Richmond and this year’s NAHBS. One of the last things we did was work on this nice IF for Rapha Continental rider Rich Bravo (it will be on display in the NAHBS Rapha booth if you’re there and want to check it out in person.)

We got to know it quite well during the build, and so we’re ready to take our relationship to the next level and call this bike our GF BOTW.

And yes, we are basically posting this to preempt any pictures you’ll see of it coming from Rapha on the twitter or the Interweb.

Because that’s how we roll.

Happy B(H)-Day!

Thursday, February 25th, 2010
G5-DA-Di2-S.jpg

Please join us Saturday March 6th at the shop for a day filled with
festivities to launch BH Bicycles at NYC Velo.

The NYC BH/Garneau Team riders will be on hand from 10am- 12pm to show off
their new bikes, consume baked goods, and gather around the espresso
machine to swap stories from the first CRCA race of the season.

Then from 12pm- 5pm we’ll have representatives from BH on hand with a few
demo bikes and oodles of information they’re dying to share. So if you’ve
considered a BH, wanted to see one in person, or have no idea what the
hell all the fuss is about, then come down and see for yourself.

In the interim be sure to check out the BH website.

We Graduated!

summit.jpg

Congratulations to Mary, Dave, Andrew, and Justin for receiving their 2010 Park Tool Summit “Diplomas”.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Park Tool Tech Summit is a series of HANDS ON training seminars for professional bicycle mechanics. Technical representatives from the world’s top manufacturers of bicycle components teach three-hour classes in a service area style setting. This is a great opportunity for mechanics to see new component and tool technology, while re-addressing some fundamentals, such as hand-building wheels and component overhauls.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Summit… our fingers are crossed for Hawaii!!!

the Dominican National Champ

Much like Fletch, our knowledge of the Spanish language is rather limited. But that won’t stop us from rooting for 2 members of our very own service team: “Pollo” Marte and “Che” Bunde.

They are currently in the Dominican Republic, racing in the Vuelta Independencia Nacional. (Pollo left his goggles at home).

Best of luck, guys!

BOTW, B2R FTW

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
BOTW: Scott B2R

This week’s Bike Of The Week is the Felt B2R tri-bike. Made from Ultra High Modulus carbon fiber and sporting the super-aero ‘Bayonet’ fork design, it’s a ride that wouldn’t look out of place on the set of Transformers2 (is there even a set? ok, a green screen studio).

Add in SRAM Red components, ZIPP Flashpoint wheels, the Bayonet stem/base bar and carbon fiber extensions, and you have a VERY fast, VERY light race machine.

Hold on to your helmet!

We Heart T.A.

Transportation Alternatives hosted their “Biking Is For Lovers” mixer this past Thursday, and it was a big hit. On February 11th from 7-9p the shop was packed wall-to-wall with cyclists of all stripes. For the price of admission partygoers were able to renew their T.A. membership at a discount, partake in some Brooklyn Brewery libations and meet fellow city bikers. We support Transportation Alternatives any way we can – and if you’re not a member yet, you should consider joining.

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

We’re starting a convoy! The ‘Trucker is quickly becoming a best-seller in the shop. Every time we put one on the floor, it sells before we can show it off!
